Washington Creek Lavender
Located in Lawrence, Kansas Washington Creek Lavender is the “child” of Kathy and Jack Wilson. Kathy, a Master Gardner and formerly one of the nation’s leading food photographers (she hung up her camera a number of years ago) is the back bone of the farm. She plants the seedlings, makes sure they are watered and weeded and then picks them at just the right time. Then, if that is not enough, she designs and hand-makes all the products, from sewing to painting! Jack does the plowing,“some” weeding (lots of field work) and the marketing/selling.
It is our labor of love! With more than 6,000 thriving lavender plants our passion for this wonderful plant grows and grows. For many years we wanted to grow lavender, enchanted with the idea of seeing beautiful purple plants dotting the horizon in rows like little soldiers, ready and able to heal, relax and sooth. We are still facinated by its ability to mesmerize as it relaxes and stimulates.
