Cards – Gristmills

Three pen and ink images of grist mills, which were another interest of the artist, Orrin Olson, and which have not been produced as note cards before. He loved to draw anything that exhibited interesting detail, and obviously, old structures were of special interest.

Each drawing is sold as a separate, individual card with envelope and wrapped in cellophane. The cards are blank inside, and the envelope is blank.

These cards represent a retrospective featuring the pen and ink drawings by my father, Orrin M. Olson, whose work as a local artist spanned approximately a quarter century. This he did in addition to his day job as Display Manager for Weaver’s Department Store from 1957 – 1990. Dad loved Lawrence, and Lawrence loved him. Over 12 years ago, his cards were distributed by my mother, Betty Olson, assisted by my brother, Marty Olson, and were quite popular. The effort dwindled upon Mom’s death. They are being offered once again, and because so much of Dad’s artwork was for his own pleasure and/or marketed only as prints, now for the first time I am producing note cards to be debuted this year at Pendleton’s Holiday Open House.
