Everything Emu! Ann lives just north of us and is known as the "Emu Lady". She will have emu oil products and low fat meats. She also makes decorative items with eggs, leather, and feathers.

Producers of pasture raised chickens and turkeys sold at Pendleton's Country Market, Margaret and her daughters will be at the Garden Barn (Saturday only) with homemade pies and pastries. They will also be taking special orders ahead of the Open House that you can pick up at the farm this weekend!

Architecture for the Birds
Sheri designs and constructs rustic barn wood birdhouses from 80-100 year old reclaimed barn wood from her family farms. Each birdhouse is hand-made and embellished with unusual and eclectic items. The bird houses are beautiful yet functional and long-lasting. Other items available will be vintage silverware chimes, hand-made benches and rustic signs.

Handcrafted duffel bags and craft totes. Duffels are 20"x10"x10" in various fabric and textures from pre-quilted to tapestry to brightly colored outdoor materials. Craft totes are basically same fabrics but smaller in size. Carol wll be with at the open house on Sunday only.

As a child, she couldn't wait to spend the night at her Grandmother's house, as she had four (yes that is correct) dressers that were filled with jewelry boxes full of color coded costume jewelry. She once told ViAnn, that “ if you can't change something about how you look, just be sure to decorate it.” ViAnn took her philosophy seriously and believes that we all need a little sparkle, extra color, glitter, sequins, and in general, BLING .

ViAnn has taught at the high school for over 30 years, and her co-workers have crowned her the QUEEN of BLING.

She manufactures her chocolates locally in Lawrence, Kansas from Fair Trade and organic ingredients and no preservatives. Sleepy Jean's completes every step of the chocolate making process from roasting the bean to packaging.

Located in Lone Star, Kansas, Washington Creek Lavender, is the “child” of Jack & Kathy Wilson. Kathy plants the seedlings, makes sure they are watered and weeded, then picks the flowers and stems at just the right time. The couple has developed a wonderful product—hand painted Lavender Sachets. Put one under your pillow to help you sleep; hang one or more in your closets or in your chest of drawers to enjoy the sweet scent of lavender.

Anthony's Beehive was founded in 1999 after Anthony watched a video with his 3rd grade class that ignited within him a passion for honey bees. Today, Anthony has over 200 hives located in Douglas, Franklin, and Leavenworth Counties in Kansas. What makes this business unique is that Anthony was born with developmental disabilities. He has turned his love for these fascinating creatures into a chance to support himself. He is a role model for people with disabilities as well as everyone else.

Alan grows shiitake mushrooms on oak logs using Japanese methods. He supplies a quality product to area restaurants, farmers' markets, and the Community Mercantile. Kathryn is all about nuts…and in particular smoked pistachioz. First she blends the seasonings of her unique family recipe into the nuts. Then she slow smokes them over raw hickory in electric smokers. This produces an undeniably aromatic and tasty blend of spices and bold hickory. Marcia McFarlane

Marcia McFarlane, a self-professed "word play junkie," is journalist and freelance writer. Winner of the Rockhurst University New Playwright Award and the Grant Goodman Playwright Award at the Unviersity of Kansas, she makes her foray into children's fiction with "A Good Game of Snowball." This children's book is a lively tale of ingenuity, teamwork adn holiday magic. It is anchored by the underlying themese of family and loyalty among brothers. 20% of all sales of her book will be given to the Ronald McDonald House in our nephew Mitch's name.
